Belchamp Walter is a beautiful area that actually has a claim to fame. Belchamp Hall, a historic country house in the village, was used as a filming location for the TV hit Lovejoy. It’s thanks to this that the area has become well known throughout Essex and Suffolk, but you’ll still be able to escape the crowds and enjoy some peace and quiet here.
St Mary the Virgin church is another local highlight, and you can get a real sense of the history of the town when you explore it. Nearby are the villages of Belchamp St Paul and Belchamp Otten, the former of which is home to the Half Moon Pub.
